Youth Apprentice Program

Ambo Dance Theatre's Youth Apprentice Program began at the start of our 2020 season in order to help foster talents of, and provide professional experiences to promising young dancers in Louisville. This program's ultimate goal is to help build clear pathways and eliminate barriers of entry into a professional career in dance!

Youth Apprentices

Savannah Bennett

Savannah began dancing at age 2 1/2 and currently dances at Upstage Dance Centre where she train in Ballet, Modern, Contemporary, Jazz, Tap, Acrobatic Arts, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre, Pre-pointe, and Improv. Her favorite style of dance is Contemporary because I can truly express herself through the artistry and movement, as well as connect emotionally with a piece. She loves going to dance conventions and learning from some of the best professionals and choreographers in the dance industry. Alongside dancing competitively at Upstage, she is a part of Noe Middle School’s resident modern company, Noe Dance Theatre, and a member of Noe’s dance team. When she is not dancing, she enjoys spending time at home with her two dogs, Chloe and Millie, and binge-watching Friends and The Office on Netflix. She is excited for her next adventure as a Dance major at the Youth Performing Arts School at duPont Manual High School!

Lyric Burris

Lyric is an 8th grader attending Noe Middle School where she is a Dance major, as well as a member of Noe Dance Theatre. Lyric has applied to Pleasant Ridge Park High School and hopes to pursue dance there and beyond. She also has been on a speed skate team since July 2019, but has been skating since she was five. In elementary school, she did cheer and drama to start off her career. Since she has earned this apprenticeship, she has grown as a dancer, and wishes to continue to grow in dance and as a person.

Gillian Jarett

Gillian is a 7th grade student at Noe middle. She dances in various places/companies: The Vandervier- Ford dance company and Noe dance Theatre, and takes dance classes at Louisville Dance Alliance and at Noe. She hopes to attend the YPAS magnet within Manual for high school, majoring in Dance.

Sofia Ritchie

Sofia is a student at Noe Middle School. She loves dancing, and has been studying dance for almost 5 years. She also utilizes her dance skills in musical theatre, participating in Noe Musical Theatre’s production of Once Upon A Mattress. Sofia takes tap, jazz, ballet, and mostly modern. She is excited to explore more genres of dance over time, and try and master skills in the dance she does now.
